Introduction
The Pakistan Water Summit 2024 invites researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders from around the world to contribute papers and participate in discussions centered around the theme of "Sustainable Solutions for Water Security and Peace in a Changing Climate." The summit aims to explore innovative strategies and foster collaboration to address the complex challenges of water management, particularly in the context of climate change impacts.
Conference Theme: "Sustainable Solutions for Water Security and Peace in a Changing Climate"
We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics related to water security, peacebuilding, and climate change effects, including but not limited to:
- Transboundary water management and cooperation
- Water diplomacy and conflict resolution
- Community-based water resource management
- Sustainable agricultural practices for water conservation
- Urban water management and resilience
- Innovative technologies for water purification and desalination
- Water governance and policy frameworks
- Indigenous knowledge and traditional water management systems
- Gender perspectives in water resource management
- Economic implications of water scarcity and climate change
- Climate change impacts on water availability and quality
- Extreme weather events and their implications for water resources (e.g., late snowfall in the Himalayan and Hindu Kush regions, extreme western disturbance in the Middle East and Pakistan)
- Promoting Sustainable Tourism in the Himalayan, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush Regions: Strategies for Conservation, Resilience, and Cross-Border Collaboration
Submission Guidelines
- Papers must be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere.
- Abstracts should not exceed 300 words, and full papers should be between 6,000 to 8,000 words.
